sev usal its a very common and famous barodians breakfast.They love to eat hot usal with besan sev and pav garnished with spring onions.A complete breakfast to start a day.
Sev usal (Servings 2-3 person)
Ingredients
: -
Dry peas
(white or green) 1 cup
Tomatoes 250 gm
Onion 250 gm
Green chili paste
2 spoon
Garlic paste 2
spoon
Ginger
paste ½ spoons
Coriander
powder 1 teaspoon
Red chili
powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric ½ teaspoons
Sugar
Salt as per
taste
Oil 3 spoon
Sev ,Pav or bread
Chopped onions
Lemon
USAL RECIPE:
Soak peas in
water for 4-5 hours,Pressure cook it (6
whistle)
Finely chop
onions and tomatoes
Heat oil in
pan and stir fry onions in it up to its transparent texture
Add green chilli,
garlic & ginger paste
Cook for 1
minute then add chopped tomatoes, Cook them for 4 minutes (tomatoes gets
dissolve).
Now add red
chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder & salt
Cook it for 2
minutes
Mix cooked peas in gravy
Add sugar
& water if need( usal should be in liquid form)
usal is ready
to serve
Spread sev on
hot usal
Garnish with chopped onions & coriander leaves
Serve with
pav.
